2025 VW Tiguan Revealed
A new generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan has arrived. While the model displayed above is the Europe-spec model, it provides a sneak peek at the forthcoming Tiguan that will be sold in the United States.
Volkswagen‘s tiny crossover’s third generation is expected to have improved interior technology, a new plug-in hybrid drivetrain, and additional cargo room.

2025 VW Tiguan Exterior
According to VW, the new Tiguan is a little longer than the outgoing model and is built on a more recent MQB platform developed by the VW Group.
Since the present U.S.-spec vehicle is marketed as the Tiguan Allspace in other regions and comes with a third row of seats, the version we’ll get in the U.S. will probably be a long-wheelbase variant.
It might also have minor interior and exterior aesthetic and trim variations.
2025 VW Tiguan Interior
For the 2025 Tiguan, new options include adaptive dampers, a head-up display, a giant 15.0-inch touchscreen screen, and massaging seats.
The gear shifter is now a column-mounted device, similar to those used in VW ID. Models and a new rotary controller with its tiny screen have also been added to the center console.
This device may be used to change drive modes, the volume, or the ambient lighting color.
Battery & Performance
A new plug-in hybrid system with a claimed 62 miles of electric range on the WLTP cycle and DC fast-charging capacity, rare for plug-in hybrids, is also available for the Euro-spec vehicle.
Turbocharged engine options for the model include gasoline and turbo-diesel options.
Since several of VW’s rivals, including the Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Tucson, already offer plug-in hybrid alternatives, we anticipate a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four and a plug-in hybrid model in the United States.
