For 2023, Ford has added the off-road-focused Rattler variant to the F-150 lineup.

However, we prefer the added features of the Lariat over the XLT, which is a step up from the base XL work truck.

It costs over $10,000 more than the XLT, which may put it out of reach for some consumers, but it offers the best combination of features and value.

The Tremor variant boasts 33-inch all-terrain tires, an improved suspension, a locking rear differential, and a four-wheel-drive transfer case from the monster F-150 Raptor.

The Tremor reached 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, just 0.1 seconds slower than the more powerful Raptor.

The towing capacity of the base 3.3-liter V-6 engine is 8200 pounds, but versions equipped with the 400-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine can tow up to 14,000 pounds.

The classic 5.0-liter V-8 has a maximum towing capacity of only 13,000 pounds; the diesel V-6 has a towing capacity of up to 12,100 pounds, and the hybrid variant has a towing capacity of up to 12,700 pounds.
