2023 Challenger Order Status.

The 2023 Dodge Challenger & Charger‘s PRE-ORDERING has been DELAYED until 2022.

Additionally, the company intended to open up orders for the 2023 HellScat Pack, RT Dodge Charger, and Challenger last October, but that has been delayed.

As a result, ordering a 2023 Dodge Challenger or Charger won’t be possible until December of the current year.

This indicates that you will have to wait a full year to obtain the HellaScat Pack or RT, and then it’s a wrap.

2023 Dodge is delayed due to the uncertainty of parts and labour.

However, they are not the only ones facing this problem.

Other car manufacturing companies like Chevy and Ford are also going through similar issues.

2023 Challenger – Overview

Dodge relaunched the Challenger coupe in 2008.

While the retro-styled muscle car tribute has received numerous updates, it still sits on one of the oldest vehicle platforms available as a “new” automobile.

By 2024, the current Challenger and its sedan twin, the Charger, will be phased away, likely to be replaced by the new all-electric performance car Dodge has teased.

Whatever the brand has planned for the iconic namesake in the future, the current generation is coming to a close, and the 2023 Dodge Challenger marks the start of the end.

2023 Challenger Engine Specs

Though the Challenger is notorious for producing outrageous horsepower in its most aggressive forms, the base SXT and GT models come with a 303-horsepower V6, which is powerful but less noticeable.

Things only get spicy, as every other model receives a V8 engine.

The 717-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat and its even more powerful derivatives, the Hellcat Redeye and SRT Super Stock, are at the very top of the spectrum.

If you want one of those hellish heavy hitters, you should get one soon because the supercharged Hellcat drivetrain is scheduled to be phased out in 2023.

The Challenger has a surprising amount of suppleness for a car based on an ancient basis.

However, its handling isn’t as nautical as its proportions and curb weight suggest on a curvy road, yet it can’t compete with competitors like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.

It may be a decade and a half old, but the Challenger is hard to dislike thanks to its iconic look, good ride and handling, and optional supercharged V8.

Interior Design

The Challenger reigns supreme among muscle coupes in terms of passenger and baggage room.

It’s significantly more practical than its crosstown rivals and features the segment’s largest cabin.

The rear seat isn’t quite spacious enough for everyone, but it’s bigger than the competitors’ and has three instead of two seats.

The segment’s visibility is often poor, but that’s expected.

The windscreen pillars block forward sightlines more than usual, with significant blind spots over both shoulders.

Although a large-display rearview camera and blind-spot monitoring are helpful, the video quality is poor.

Central Console & Infotainment

This is one of the most convenient plug-and-play systems available.

In addition, the Challenger’s already user-friendly Uconnect system gets a boost with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It’s simple to use and has several solutions for the same commands.

However, the interface appears to be a little obsolete compared to the rest of the class.

The voice controls have an easy-to-understand framework and take basic audio, navigation, and hands-free calling requests.

When you connect your smartphone, everything becomes even more familiar.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning are included with the Driver Convenience package. During our test, they performed admirably with no false alarms.

Riding Experience of 2023 Dodge Challenger

Driving the Challenger is always a blast. Deliverance of the power is available in any gear at practically any speed with the 6.4-litre V8.

From zero to 60 mph, the time was just 4.9 seconds at the test track.

It’s swift enough but a few tenths slower than other modern muscle vehicles. Nevertheless, the braking system is robust.

The Challenger halted at 105 feet from 60 mph, a short distance for a large car.

The Dodge’s bulk makes in-town manoeuvring difficult, but it’s a beast on the highway. On twisty roads, the Challenger is also quite capable.

As long as you don’t try to drive it like an agile sports car, that is. On the other hand, if you try to move swiftly around tight curves, you’ll notice its heft and weight.

So, Comfortable is the 2023 Dodge Challenger?

The highway ride quality is excellent, and the seat comfort is among the best in the class.

In addition, a relatively quiet cabin contributes to this being a pleasant location to remain in for long travels.

On the R/T, dual-zone climate control is standard and does an excellent job of keeping the cabin at the proper temperature.

The climate may be adjusted via the touchscreen or the knobs and buttons behind the shifter. The heated and ventilated front seats were an option on the test vehicle.

The seat heating is adequate. However, the ventilation may be improved.

What’s the status of the storage facilities?

The Challenger tops the class in this category, even though big American coupes aren’t precisely perfect models of utility.

The trunk has a big opening and a capacity that rivals a midsize sedan, with 16.2 cubic feet of cargo space. For added convenience, the rear seatbacks split 60/40.

Small-item storage is adequate throughout the cabin, although the cup holders are located below the gearbox, which is inconvenient with a manual transmission.

The door pockets are small, and the upfront is modest bottle holders. Space is limited in coupes of this size, but the Challenger makes good use of what it has.

Range

The 6.4-litre V8 is EPA-estimated to get 17 mpg combined. Even without the Widebody package, that’s one of the lowest ratings in the segment.

The large tires also increase rolling resistance, lowering real-world fuel economy even more.

Price

Because there are slight modifications, the 2023 Dodge Challenger is expected to cost a few hundred dollars more than the previous year’s model.

As a result, you should expect a starting price of around $28,500, with SRT Hellcat versions costing approximately $35,000.

Is it worth buying?

For the money, the Challenger provides adequate equipment. Compared to other V8 upgrades in the class, the 6.4-litre engine is reasonably priced.

The Widebody option adds significantly to the price, but the improved wheel, tire, suspension modifications, and the increased aesthetic swagger make it worthwhile.

The interior of the Challenger is well-built, but the quality of the materials degrades as you progress up the trim ladder.

By the time you’ve reached Hellcat territory, it’ll be clear that you’re paying for a powerful engine rather than a luxurious interior.
