Tesla Cybertruck Towing Capacity – 11,000-Pound!!

Here are the major highlights:

  • The max towing capacity of the Tesla Cybertruck is reportedly 11,000 pounds, which is 3,000 less than what was initially stated.
  • According to numerous internet accounts, placards at Tesla stores where the electric truck was on display included information on its tow rating and 2500-pound maximum payload.
  • With the first client deliveries, which are scheduled for later this week on November 30, more information about the Cybertruck is anticipated to be made public.

The most robust model of the Tesla Cybertruck was supposed to have a maximum towing capability of 14,000 pounds when it was initially unveiled more than four years ago.

Nevertheless, the production model will come in a few thousand pounds shy of that amount since fresh information indicates the Cybertruck may be able to tow as much as 11,000 pounds.

Signs at Tesla stores featuring the electric vehicle on display recently revealed the Cybertruck’s maximum towing capacity.

According to several internet sources that spread images of the material on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum and X, the former name of Twitter.

In contrast, comparable volumes can be pulled by other electric trucks that are now in production. The Rivian R1T equals the Cybertruck’s maximum towing rating of 11,000 pounds, whereas the Ford F-150 Lightning has a full pulling power of 10,000 pounds.

In the meantime, Ram asserts that the forthcoming REV 1500 can tow up to 14,000 pounds, while Chevy claims the 2024 Silverado EV can tow up to 10,000 pounds (a 20,000-pound version is reportedly on the way).

The posters also mentioned the maximum payload capacity of the impending Cybertruck, which is 2500 pounds, in addition to its towing capabilities. At first, Tesla stated that any Cybertruck could handle a payload of 3,500 pounds.

Although the cargo bed of Tesla’s electric truck will hold less than anticipated, the truck’s stated payload capacity is higher than that of most other electric trucks on the market. The maximum weights that the Chevy, Ford, and Rivian can tow are 1400, 1760, and 2235 pounds, respectively. There are claims that the Ram REV 1500 can tow 2700 pounds.

The production Cybertruck will have a stainless steel shell and adjustable air suspension, as promised, even though it doesn’t live up to some of the company’s initial claims.

However, it appears that a $40K single-motor rear-wheel-drive variation will not happen, and we’re not sure if the “shatter-resistant glass” refers to the bulletproof material that has been marketed. Still, there’s one way to find out.

When the first clients take delivery later this week, we anticipate finding out more information on the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck.

Thursday, November 30, is the event day at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
