Yungblud Makes a Fiery Comeback, Shutting Down Rumors With a Wild, Shirtless Performance

Yungblud returned to the stage in Michigan, proving that his wild energy is unstoppable—just days after raising eyebrows with his eccentric antics alongside Aerosmith at the MTV VMAs.

The 28-year-old rocker, born Dominic Richard Harrison, had sparked concern with his over-the-top performance at the star-studded awards, where he flashed his armpits, pulled faces, and posed for unusual photos backstage with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Fans flooded social media, unsure whether his behavior was part of the act or a sign of something deeper.

But Wednesday night at The Fillmore in Michigan, Yungblud reminded everyone why he’s one of the most electrifying performers on the planet. Arriving in a sleek leather co-ord, he eventually stripped shirtless, showing off his abs and trademark wild energy as he tore through his biggest hits. The crowd erupted, and it was clear: he was back, fully in control, and on fire.

For the evening’s Ozzy Osbourne tribute, Yungblud dressed in black leather pants and boots, accessorized with gunmetal bracelets, necklaces, and a bold belt buckle. His dramatic makeup and carefully styled hair added to the theatrical flair. Fans noted that his relationship with the late Ozzy had grown into an almost father-son bond, making the performance deeply personal. Yungblud even performed at Ozzy’s farewell concert in Birmingham earlier this year, paying tribute to the metal legend before his passing in July.

While some social media users criticized his VMA styling as chaotic or “messy,” many others praised his fearless authenticity. One fan wrote, “When someone stays true to their aesthetic on the biggest stages, it creates powerful moments,” while another added, “He’s absolutely a star—this is early ’90s Seattle grunge energy with a dash of Ozzy.”

Back on his home turf in Michigan, Yungblud proved he’s more than just a headline-grabbing performer. He delivered a high-octane, crowd-igniting set that reminded fans why his shows are unmissable.

Amid all the Yungblud excitement, the 2025 MTV VMAs also celebrated other big names. Lady Gaga took home the first Moon Person of the night, snagging Artist of the Year in a huge upset over Taylor Swift. Gaga now boasts 18 VMA wins, and fans are eagerly anticipating what the rest of the night—and year—will bring for her.

For Yungblud, though, the spotlight in Michigan was all about reclaiming his stage, honoring Ozzy, and showing that no controversy—or viral moment—can dim his fire.
