The Voice Season 29 Ignites A Fierce Battle As Legendary Coaches Clash In “Battle Of Champions”

Season 29 of The Voice is almost here—and it promises to be unlike anything fans have seen before. Following the crowning of Season 28’s winner in December, NBC has announced that the new season, titled Battle of Champions, will premiere on February 23.

This season brings back three fan-favorite coaches—Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend—all together for the first time since 2019.

What’s New This Season?

Season 29 introduces major changes to the competition format. The show will now feature five rounds: Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, Semifinals, and Finals.

During the Blind Auditions, coaches will compete in a “Triple Turn Competition” to earn the most chair turns, with each coach building a team of 10 artists. The winning coach will receive a one-time “Super Steal” power to block another coach from stealing an artist during the Battles.

In the Knockouts, each coach will bring back two artists from past seasons for sing-offs. The coach who wins the most sing-offs will secure an extra finalist spot. CeeLo Green makes a grand return to judge this round.

The Semifinals will narrow the field from nine contestants to four finalists, while a new “voting block” of superfans and past contestants will help decide the winner in real time.

First Look at Season 29

NBC released the first trailer on February 1, giving fans a sneak peek at the action—and the banter fans love. Legend teases, “It’s the battle of champions for a reason,” while Levine and Clarkson playfully argue over past wins.

CeeLo Green makes a dramatic entrance on a throne, dressed in a red suit with gold accents, prompting Clarkson to joke, “I’m totally gonna steal that for my Vegas show.”

Mark your calendars for Monday, February 23 at 9/8c PM on NBC to watch The Voice: Battle of Champions.
