Snoop Dogg has never been one to stay in just one lane. From dominating the rap game to mentoring singers on The Voice and entertaining fans at the Olympics, he’s built a reputation as a true all-around entertainer. On Jan. 5, 2026, he added yet another title to that list—NBA analyst.
Snoop joined Peacock’s broadcast team for the matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers, instantly making his presence felt. His commentary blended sharp basketball insight with his signature humor, creating a broadcast moment that quickly went viral.
The highlight of the night came when Warriors head coach Steve Kerr became so upset over a call that he was ejected from the game. Just six days into the new year, Sports Illustrated labeled the sequence the “best sports moment of 2026,” largely thanks to Snoop’s animated reaction.
As Kerr argued on the sideline, Snoop launched into an unforgettable monologue, warning that the coach was about to be tossed and hyping the moment with rapid-fire commentary, playful trash talk, and even a growl that had viewers laughing. Social media erupted almost immediately. One Instagram user joked, “At this moment the commissioner deeply regrets giving Snoop the headset 😂 I love it tho,” while another comment—“Make Snoop an announcer please”—nearly hit 14,000 likes by the next morning.
Snoop’s enthusiasm didn’t stop there. He was clearly impressed by Warriors superstar Steph Curry and crowned him with a new nickname: “Stephisticated Curry.” The name cracked up fellow analysts Terry Gannon and Reggie Miller, and Snoop used it throughout the second half. Whether Curry was draining an impossible shot or fouling out, Snoop delivered the call with flair, declaring, “Stephisticated Curry has been removed from the game!”
The NBA later leaned into the buzz by sharing a “Best of Snoop” compilation on social media. The post included clips from his pregame interview with Curry—where he shifted from comedy to thoughtful questions—as well as behind-the-scenes footage of him checking out the production trailer. Other highlights featured a Clippers steal that prompted Snoop to exclaim, “Oh! Cookies and cream!” leaving Miller laughing and momentarily speechless.
While it’s unclear if Snoop will return for future NBA broadcasts, his sports résumé continues to grow. He’s set to rejoin NBC’s coverage of the 2026 Olympics after his popular run in 2024, and he’s also serving as Community Chairman for the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee, helping build excitement for the global event arriving this June.
