Last night, Boston’s Fenway Park witnessed a rare and magical moment as Neil Diamond joined Will Swenson and the cast of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical to perform his timeless hit, “Sweet Caroline.” The crowd erupted as the iconic anthem rang out, a song that has long united Red Sox fans during the traditional eighth-inning singalong.
Diamond’s appearance was especially poignant, as it marked one of his few public performances in recent years. Fans will fondly remember his last Fenway visit in 2013, when he led an emotional rendition of the song in the wake of the Boston Marathon Bombing.

A Beautiful Noise will kick off its world premiere with a six-week run at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre starting Tuesday, June 21, before making its way to Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre this fall. Previews begin Wednesday, November 2, with an official opening night on Sunday, December 4.

The musical celebrates Diamond’s extraordinary career, featuring a score packed with his most beloved hits. The production combines the talents of a dream creative team: four-time Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody) wrote the book, Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Idiot) directs, and Olivier Award® winner Steven Hoggett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) choreographs.

The Boston cast stars Tony Award® nominee Will Swenson as Neil Diamond – Then, with Mark Jacoby as Neil Diamond – Now, Robyn Hurder as Marcia, and Linda Powell as Doctor. They are joined by an ensemble of exceptional performers bringing Diamond’s world to life, including Jessie Fisher, Michael McCormick, Tom Alan Robbins, and Bri Sudia, among others.

From his humble beginnings as a young songwriter in Brooklyn to becoming a global icon, Neil Diamond’s career spans five decades of unforgettable music, triumphs, and heartache. A Beautiful Noise captures that journey, transforming his legendary songs into a theatrical experience that allows audiences to relive the magic of his life and music.
Last night, at Fenway, history and music intertwined once again, reminding fans why Neil Diamond’s voice and songs continue to resonate across generations.
