Las Vegas Erupts as Lainey Wilson Invites Tiny “Duck” Look-Alike Onstage During Emotional Duet

Lainey Wilson’s fans are known for showing up in full Western flair, but one young cowboy at her Las Vegas concert managed to steal the entire show — and create a moment fans won’t soon forget.

During her recent run of live dates, Wilson has made a habit of inviting a young fan onstage to be crowned the “Cowgirl of the Night.” But at her Dec. 7 performance at T-Mobile Arena during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, she surprised the crowd by adding a special twist, welcoming a second fan who immediately caught her attention.

While scanning the audience, the Louisiana native spotted a little boy dressed as someone very close to her heart: her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges. The pint-sized superfan was impossible to miss, decked out in blue jeans, a camo hat, a fake mustache, and a black long-sleeve shirt with “duck” boldly printed across the front — a spot-on recreation of Hodges’ signature look.

Wilson brought the young fan onstage at the perfect moment in her set as she launched into “Yesterday, All Day, Every Day,” the upbeat love song inspired by her relationship with Hodges. The track paints a vivid picture of the night they first met in 2021 at Nashville’s Silverado Dance Hall & Saloon, after being introduced by a mutual friend. With playful lyrics and warm nostalgia, Wilson reflects on that first spark and her wish to relive it again and again.

As the song played, Wilson held the boy’s hand, twirling and dancing with him across the stage as the crowd cheered. After escorting him offstage, she returned to the microphone to finish the performance, laughing as she joked to the audience, “I’m marrying a man named Duck… y’all keep him in your prayers.”

“Yesterday, All Day, Every Day” appears on the expanded edition of Wilson’s GRAMMY-winning album Whirlwind, released August 22. The deluxe project includes five additional tracks: “Bell Bottoms Up,” “King Ranch, King George, King James,” “Somewhere Over Laredo,” and “Peace, Love, and Cowboys.”

Wilson and the real “Duck” are currently deep into wedding planning following their engagement in February. Hodges proposed on the porch of the late George Jones’ estate in Franklin, Tennessee — a moment Wilson happily said yes to.

Between planning her wedding and celebrating milestones in her career, Wilson shows no signs of slowing down. The multi-PLATINUM singer-songwriter is preparing to extend her headline tour into 2026, with newly announced dates across Australia and New Zealand. Flatland Cavalry and Kaitlin Butts will join as special guests on select shows, ensuring even more unforgettable moments lie ahead.
