“Happy’s Place” Season 2 is Officially Returned, But Not Without a Figh

After a cozy first season that delivered 18 feel-good episodes, Happy’s Place quickly secured a Season 2 renewal earlier this year. While NBC initially kept the premiere date under wraps, the network has now confirmed the comedy’s return — and it’s arriving with a little extra something for fans.

Created by Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott, the sitcom debuted on October 18, 2024, offering weekly 21-minute doses of comfort and humor. The first season wrapped on March 21, 2025, but the renewal had already been announced a month earlier, signaling strong confidence in the show’s future.

As part of its fall lineup reveal, NBC confirmed that Season 2 will premiere Friday, November 7 at 8/9c — kicking off with a special two-episode event. That means more time with Bobbie McAllister and the bar crew right out of the gate. Reba McEntire returns to lead the ensemble, alongside Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk for another round of heartfelt laughs.

Season 1 followed Bobbie as she inherited her late father’s bar — only to discover she now had a co-owner in Isabella, the half-sister she never knew existed. Their clashing personalities and management styles created much of the show’s humor and heart as they learned to run the business together. Rounding out the tight-knit staff were Gabby the bartender, Emmett the cook, Takoda the endlessly kind waiter, and Steve the quirky but brilliant accountant.

Reception to the series was mixed. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 73% critics’ score from a small batch of reviews. Some critics were less enthusiastic — Kelly Lawler called it a “low-rent sitcom” with familiar tropes, while Daniel Fienberg found it somewhat generic. Others were more positive, including Sarah Little, who praised the show’s balance of jokes and emotional moments, noting that many of its heartfelt beats land.

Love it or not, Happy’s Place is officially back this November — and with a double premiere, NBC is clearly betting viewers are ready to pull up a stool for another round.
