There’s good news and bad news for fans of Reba McEntire and her NBC sitcom Happy’s Place.
The good news? The hit comedy is officially returning for Season 2 in 2025.
The bad news? It won’t be back as early as some viewers expected.
When Does Happy’s Place Return?
NBC has scheduled the second season to premiere on Friday, November 7, keeping the show in its familiar Friday night time slot. To help new viewers catch up, the network plans to air back-to-back episodes in the weeks leading into the new season.
The delay comes as NBC shifts several of its newer comedies to a later fall rollout.
A Strong Start for the Series
When Happy’s Place debuted last October, it drew more than four million viewers and maintained a steady audience of around three to three-and-a-half million throughout its first 18 episodes — strong numbers for a new network sitcom. NBC renewed the series earlier this year, confirming confidence in its growing fan base.
This marks McEntire’s third sitcom, following her early-2000s hit Reba and Malibu Country. She also appeared in the ABC drama Big Sky in 2022–2023.
What the Show Is About
In Happy’s Place, McEntire plays Bobbie McAllister, a woman who inherits her late father’s bar only to discover she now co-owns it with a half-sister she never knew existed. The clash of personalities, generations, and life experiences between Bobbie and Isabella drives much of the comedy.
The series also stars Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, and Rex Linn — who, notably, is McEntire’s real-life partner.
Still Busy at 70
McEntire, who turned 70 in March 2025, shows no signs of slowing down. Alongside her sitcom, she continues to perform music, host major country award shows, and return as a coach on The Voice.
Bottom Line
While the later premiere date means a longer wait, Happy’s Place remains firmly on NBC’s schedule — and its strong first season suggests plenty more laughs and heartfelt moments are on the way when Season 2 arrives this November.
