Bruce Springsteen had a moment that left fans holding their breath during his May 27 show in Amsterdam. While climbing the stage stairs at Johan Cruyff Arena, the 73-year-old “Dancing in the Dark” singer tripped, sending himself—and his guitar—tumbling to the floor. For a brief moment, he lay on his back as his bandmates rushed over to help.
True to form, Bruce laughed it off, joking, “Goodnight everybody,” as the crowd applauded and cheered him on. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt and quickly got back on his feet to continue the performance, guitar in hand.
The fall came during preparations for a rendition of his hit “Ghosts.” Bruce and the E Street Band have been touring since February, starting in Tampa, traveling across the U.S., and then hitting Europe in April, with stops in Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, and Scotland. After the Netherlands, the tour continues through Europe in June, with a U.S. return in August.
Even after more than 50 years of performing, the legendary rockstar shows no signs of slowing down, proving that a stumble on stage is just another chapter in his remarkable career.
