Bruce Springsteen gave fans more than just a concert at this weekend’s Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park — he offered a glimpse into his heart alongside his wife and longtime collaborator, Patti Scialfa.
Closing the festival with a three-hour-plus set by the Jersey Shore, “The Boss” and his E Street Band played against the backdrop of the Atlantic waves. Midway through, Bruce invited Patti on stage for a soul-stirring duet of “Tougher Than the Rest.” The song took on new depth given Patti’s private battle with multiple myeloma since 2018, as revealed in the documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
Swaying together, sharing the microphone, the couple radiated love and resilience. Fans were visibly moved as Bruce proudly introduced her: “We’ve got my beautiful wife, Patti Scialfa, here with us tonight!”
It was a rare, intimate moment — a reminder that their connection, on and off stage, remains as strong as ever.
