Just when fans thought the story had finally closed, KISS have delivered another twist that proves the band’s engine is still running.
Despite repeatedly framing End Of The Road as their farewell era, bassist and co-founder Gene Simmons has now confirmed that the band is actively back in the studio — and they’ve already recorded a brand-new song written by Paul Stanley.
The revelation came during a six-minute interview released by host Sienna Hernandez on the Kiss-focused online show Kiss By Sienna. When asked what he and Stanley had been doing since KISS played their final show at Madison Square Garden in 2023, Simmons gave a surprisingly direct answer:
“Kiss is in the studio now.”
He added that the band had just recorded a new track written by Stanley, though he stopped short of revealing any details about the song itself. Still, Simmons confirmed that fans will hear it eventually.
That announcement alone is enough to reshape the narrative surrounding the band’s supposed ending. The End Of The Road tour, which ran from 2019 through 2023, was widely presented as KISS’ final chapter on the road. But Simmons’ latest comments make it clear that while the touring era may be over, the band’s creative life is far from finished.
In other words: The End Of The Road was not actually the end of the road.
The interview also revealed several other projects currently keeping Simmons busy. He confirmed he is developing a documentary centered around the End Of The Road tour while also promoting his upcoming Legends Of Rock expo in Las Vegas. The event is expected to feature rock heavyweights including Geezer Butler, Steven Pearcy, Dave Davies, and Lita Ford.
Simmons also discussed the action-disaster thriller Deep Water, which he co-produced, further showing that the KISS machine continues to operate on multiple fronts.
And the new Paul Stanley song may only be the beginning.
In a previous interview with Pollstar, Simmons, Stanley, and longtime manager Doc McGhee confirmed that the band’s planned avatar show — currently expected to launch in 2028 — will feature completely new KISS music that fans have never heard before.
According to Simmons, the futuristic production will include the classic songs, “surprises,” and brand-new tracks already completed by the band.
That avatar project has been positioned as the next evolution of KISS, blending technology with the band’s larger-than-life identity. But Simmons’ latest studio update shows the group is not waiting until 2028 to stay active or relevant.
In fact, KISS already dipped back into live performance territory last November with two unmasked appearances during Kiss Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas. Simmons has also confirmed that the format will return for the 2026 edition, scheduled for November 13–15 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
For longtime fans, the message is becoming impossible to ignore.
KISS may have retired from traditional world touring, but they are still creating, recording, planning, and expanding the brand in new directions. Between a freshly recorded Paul Stanley song, an upcoming documentary, unreleased music tied to the avatar era, and another Las Vegas event on the calendar, the band continues to prove that their story is still unfolding.
The farewell tour may be over — but KISS are clearly not done yet.
