Good news for fans of Happy’s Place—Season 2 is officially in production! Reba McEntire shared the exciting announcement in a new behind-the-scenes video posted to social media, showing the cast’s enthusiasm for returning to work.
The hit comedy, which premiered last fall on NBC Peacock, follows Reba’s character, Bobbie, who inherits her father’s bar after his passing. While reviewing his will, she discovers a half-sister, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), and together they must navigate running the business while facing every challenge that comes their way.
Season 1 was a huge success, with the pilot reaching over 10 million viewers across all platforms—making it the most-watched new comedy series launch on Peacock. Returning favorites include Melissa Peterman as Gabby, the bartender and Bobbie’s best friend, and Christopher Rich as Maverick, a tattoo artist, marking his return to acting.
Creator Kevin Abbott hinted at the possibility of bringing back more familiar faces, including JoAnna García Swisher, who played Cheyenne on Reba. “We want to make certain that we give JoAnna a role that’s fun for her,” Abbott said, adding that the team is planning exciting storylines for returning cast members.
In the video, McEntire said, “We’re just so glad to get back to work with each other, because it’s not work—it’s play.” With Season 2 now underway, fans can look forward to more laughter, family drama, and the charm that made Happy’s Place an instant hit.
