Kelly Clarkson Explains Her Decision to End Her Talk Show After Seven Seasons and What Comes Next

The Kelly Clarkson Show is preparing to take its final bow later this year, closing the curtain on a successful seven-season run and opening a new chapter for its beloved host.

Kelly Clarkson addressed the future herself on February 2, announcing that Season 7 would be the show’s last, with new episodes continuing through fall 2026. The Daytime Emmy–winning talk show has become a staple of daytime television, blending music, humor, and heartfelt conversation—and its ending naturally raises questions about what’s next for the pop superstar.

Clarkson was quick to reassure fans that this isn’t a farewell from the spotlight.

“This isn’t goodbye,” she said in her statement. “I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time. You never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”

Musically, Clarkson isn’t slowing down. She has a concert scheduled for March 14 in Houston, Texas, followed by the return of her Las Vegas residency beginning July 17.

Beyond her career, Clarkson emphasized that stepping away from the daily demands of a talk show will allow her to focus more on her family. As a mom to daughter River, 11, and son Remy, 9, she explained that the decision feels right for this stage of her life.

“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she shared.

Fans have watched River and Remy grow up over the years—from River playfully taking charge of the show for a day to Remy’s viral Frank Sinatra performance—making Clarkson’s family-first choice feel especially fitting.

As for The Voice, viewers won’t have to wait long to see Clarkson back in her iconic Coach chair. She’s part of the all-star lineup for Season 29, officially titled The Voice: Battle of Champions, alongside John Legend and Adam Levine.

The new season premieres Monday, February 23, 2026, at 9/8c on NBC, starting with the Blind Auditions. Episodes will air weekly on Mondays and be available to stream the following day on Peacock.

With major format changes and a powerhouse trio of Coaches, The Voice: Battle of Champions promises one of the most unpredictable seasons yet—and another exciting chapter in Kelly Clarkson’s ever-evolving career.
