Reba McEntire and Rex Linn made a glamorous appearance together at the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards, turning heads as they walked the red carpet, posed for photos, and chatted with media throughout the night. While enjoying their date night, the longtime couple also shared an update on their wedding plans — and why they’ve decided to press pause.
Speaking with E! News during Live From E!: Grammys, McEntire revealed that busy work schedules are the main reason their wedding has been pushed back.
“We’re still waiting on a third-season pickup for Happy’s Place,” Reba explained. “And Rex got picked up on Stick with Owen Wilson, so that pushed the wedding back.”
McEntire added that Linn is especially firm about putting career commitments first, often reminding her that “work comes first” when exciting opportunities arise.
The couple previously opened up about their plans in November, sharing that they envision a nontraditional wedding that’s centered around fun, comfort, and togetherness.
“We like comfort, we love friends, we love food,” Reba teased at the time.
Linn echoed that sentiment, explaining that they’re in no rush and are savoring this chapter of their lives.
“What we’re doing right now, honestly, is enjoying our engagement time,” he said. “We haven’t set a date. We’re just enjoying being engaged and going to Happy’s Place every day.”
Linn was also by McEntire’s side as she delivered her first-ever GRAMMY Awards performance, leading the evening’s In Memoriam tribute. Reba performed a reimagined version of “Trailblazer,” honoring members of the music community lost over the past year, including her beloved son Brandon Blackstock, who passed away last year following a battle with cancer.

Joined onstage by Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson, McEntire delivered one of the night’s most emotional and powerful moments. She later shared that the performance was deeply personal and quickly became her most meaningful GRAMMYs memory.
“I’ve got a lot of friends on that screen tonight,” Reba said. “My oldest son, Brandon Blackstock, is also up there. This is going to be a very emotional song to sing.”

McEntire entered the night with her 18th GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. The newly released version of the song, titled “Trailblazer (Dream Chaser Version),” is available now.
Between career highs, heartfelt tributes, and wedding plans patiently waiting their turn, Reba McEntire continues to embrace every moment — both onstage and off.
Back in November, they opened up about their wedding plans, telling E! News they planned to have a “nontraditional wedding” and insisted that it would be “a lot of fun.”
