When Does The Voice Season 29 Premiere?

Season 29 will kick off on February 23 with a two-hour premiere episode. The excitement continues that same week with two additional two-hour episodes airing on February 25 and February 26, NBC confirmed.

Who Are the Coaches for Season 29?

Returning to the iconic red chairs this season are Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend. Notably, season 29 will feature only three coaches, marking a significant departure from the show’s usual four-chair setup.

All three artists are Voice winners themselves, making this the first panel in the show’s history made up entirely of champions. Clarkson last appeared in season 23, while Levine and Legend most recently coached during season 27.

What’s the New Format for Season 29?

Season 29 introduces a revamped format titled “The Voice: Battle of Champions.” Each coach will lead a team of 10 artists, and the competition will unfold across four rounds.

  • Blind Auditions: Coaches face off in a new Triple Turn Competition, competing to earn the most three-chair turns. The winner gains a special advantage in the next round.

  • Jadyn Cree performs on 'The Voice'.
  • Battles: The coach with the most triple turns earns a Super Steal, a powerful move that overrides other coaches’ steal attempts.

  • Knockouts: An in-season All-Star Competition brings back standout performers from previous seasons.

  • Live Shows: The season concludes with a Top 9 semifinal and a Top 4 finale, featuring a new voting block made up of superfans and former Voice artists.

  • Girl Named Tom, Kelly Clarkson for The Voice

Which Artists Are Returning for the All-Star Competition?

  • Team Kelly: Girl Named Tom (Season 21), Jake Hoot (Season 17)

  • Team John: Maelyn Jarmon (Season 16), Renzo (Season 27)
