The American Idol judge has been forced to rest due to a mystery condition

Luke Bryan has announced that he will be unable to perform at his scheduled concerts this weekend due to a “continued illness.” The 48-year-old country superstar, one of the world’s best-selling artists with over 75 million records sold, had been set to play at the Country Stampede in Kansas, the NebraskaLand Days festival, and Country Jam in Colorado.

In an Instagram story, Bryan shared: “I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness. I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet.”

He added a note of gratitude to fellow country artist Eric Church, who is stepping in on short notice: “Huge thanks to my buddy @ericchurchmusic for stepping in last minute and putting on a kick-ass show like he always does. Sitting still is not what I do best, so I can’t wait to be back soon. Love y’all, Luke.”

Despite the cancellations, Bryan is expected to resume his tour in July, with upcoming stops in Canada, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, followed by additional shows across South Carolina, Alabama, Wyoming, Missouri, and North Dakota as part of his nationwide Farm Tour.

Outside of touring, Bryan continues his role as a judge on American Idol, a position he has held since 2018 alongside Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood. He has previously been praised for defending Underwood behind the scenes, offering support when she faced challenges or criticism during the show.
