Jamal Roberts Set to Perform National Anthem at CFP National Championship

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The College Football Playoff (CFP) has announced its pregame entertainment lineup for the 2026 CFP National Championship, featuring Mississippi native and American Idol winner Jamal Roberts.

The championship game will take place on January 19, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Ahead of kickoff, Roberts will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” in front of a national audience.

Roberts is coming off a major career milestone, having recently earned his first Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song for the live version of “Still,” his collaboration with Jonathan McReynolds.

His anthem performance will feature a special arrangement by acclaimed music director, composer, and arranger Adam Blackstone. As part of the CFP’s tribute to the armed forces, the ceremony will include live video feeds of U.S. service members stationed overseas, including troops deployed in Romania and the Middle East.

Pregame festivities inside Hard Rock Stadium are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT, with kickoff set for 6:50 p.m. CT. The matchup will feature No. 1 seed Indiana taking on No. 10 seed Miami in the national title game.
